Disclosure: In response to our own early interest, Tech House Market provided AltWire with complimentary advance copies of SPIT, LOCK and KIX for editorial coverage – however all opinions contained herein are our own.
Tech House Market has spent years selling house samples, MIDI packs and Serum presets. Today, on October 13, 2026, the company launches its first three plugins: SPIT, LOCK and KIX.
I’ve been using advance copies in Ableton Live, spending most of my time experimenting with SPIT and LOCK. Together, they’ve been a quick way to generate bassline ideas and try different sounds within Tech House music and some of it’s sister genres.

SPIT and SPIT FX
SPIT generates basslines in six styles: Tech House, Latin Tech House, Minimal Deep Tech, Minimal Bass, Funk/Disco House and UK Garage. Density, Length, Slide and Swing control the rhythm, while Key, Scale, Octave and Range govern the notes.
Under the hood, each style uses a groove profile developed from reference loops. These profiles influence where notes land on sixteenth-note steps, generally leaving room around the kick. Patterns use a small pool of pitches, usually three or four, with longer four-bar phrases following an A–A–A–B structure.
I’ve been getting catchy starting points out of SPIT quickly after launch. Its demo drum beat lets me hear the patterns against a house rhythm before dragging the MIDI into Ableton. You can also drop your own MIDI into SPIT and use its Vary control to create anything from slight changes to a new phrase based on the original.
SPIT FX comes included and lets the generated MIDI play through another instrument, including bass synths you already own.

How I’m Using SPIT FX With LOCK
LOCK is a bass instrument with multisampled sounds spanning four octaves. The launch version includes 99 multisampled bass sounds across nine categories, including Pluck, Acid, Reese and FM. It has envelope, filter, glide and legato controls, along with six effects you can rearrange.
While this may not be the way it was intended to be used, my favorite workflow so far is to load SPIT, SPIT FX and LOCK together. Once that’s done I turn SPIT’s bass volume all the way down, and leave its demo drum beat playing. SPIT FX sends the bassline MIDI to LOCK, where I can switch sounds while the same pattern and drums keep playing.
I’ve found that workflow to be a really useful way to audition the built in sounds and hear how different bass sounds change the feel of the groove, even when the MIDI stays exactly the same. With 99 sounds in LOCK compared with SPIT’s six preview sounds, there’s plenty to try. The LOCK SETTINGS option also lets you change presets without resetting the envelope, effects or sidechain settings.
LOCK has a built-in Pump section that follows the DAW’s tempo. Band mode ducks the low frequencies while leaving more of the upper bass content audible. A separate Break control brings in a high-pass filter while fading out the pumping effect.
Right now, it does not seem to allow you to do a literal sidechain in the sense of chaining it to a kick, and as such I’d like to see both that and an optional demo drum loop added directly to LOCK. The latter would let me audition the bass library against a beat without opening SPIT alongside it.

KIX: Kick Selection and Shaping
KIX includes 55 kicks across four categories: Tech House, Minimal Deep Tech, Latin Tech House and Vintage House. You can import your own samples, then adjust Transient, Punch, Length and Tone. Its Compare function switches between the original and processed kick.
The key detector reports the pitch where a kick settles, using a tilde (~) when the reading is approximate. KIX also supports favorites and undo/redo, and finished kicks can be dragged into your DAW as 24-bit WAV files.
Availability and First Impressions
SPIT including SPIT FX, LOCK and KIX can all be purchased seperately. However, the three-plugin Low End Bundle combines all three at a discount, and is the best option right now for purchasing. Check out the site for the latest price.
Tech House Market lists Windows VST3 and standalone support, plus VST3, AU and standalone versions for macOS. Mac builds support Apple Silicon and Intel. The software works offline after its first online activation, and updates are free for owners. An AAX version is not listed.
It may only be two weeks in on my end, but SPIT FX driving LOCK over SPIT’s demo drums has given me plenty of great results to keep working on.
