The wait is finally over! My Chemical Romance have released a brand new track “The Foundations of Decay” and it’s everything we’d hope for from this iconic band. 8 years may have passed since they put out a new track, but you would never know with how instantly at home this track feels when put against their already impressive discography.
The song starts off slow, with a haunting guitar melody and sounds of static, as Gerard Way’s signature vocals enter along with a steady drum beat. The pace picks up for the pre-chorus, providing yet another beautiful MCR anthemic chorus that will have you singing along in no time. Musically this reminds me a bit of older MCR, but with a new twist which I’m sure fans of the band from the very beginning will appreciate. I cannot wait to see what comes next after this outstanding track.
