It’s WrestleMania 41 Week, and while the pyro, promos, and piledrivers bring the spectacle—let’s not forget the soundtrack. From glass shatters that erupt arenas to violin solos that make crowds sing in unison, entrance music has become as essential to wrestling as the action itself. In honor of WrestleMania 41, we’re ranking the 10 greatest pro wrestling theme songs of all time—and calling out a few iconic tracks that just missed the cut.

DQ’d: Iconic But Ineligible

Before we get to the main event, here are some legendary wrestling themes that didn’t make the cut, not because they aren’t amazing, but because they weren’t originally created for the wrestler or wrestling company.

CM Punk – “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour

A theme synonymous with rebellion. CM Punk’s use of Living Colour’s anthem electrified crowds—but because the song wasn’t composed specifically for him, it’s DQ’d. Still, check out the chills during his Survivor Series return pop.

MJF – Theme Song Dig Deep RW Smith (Licensed Production Music)

It’s theatrical. It’s arrogant. It fits the greatest heel of this generation. But this one comes from a production music library, not AEW’s in-house composers.

Edge – “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge

The song is epic and Edge owns it, but again, it wasn’t custom-made. That said, shoutout to Edge (now “Cope” in AEW) for keeping it as his Alter Bridge entrance theme through multiple promotions.

Hardy Boyz – “Loaded”

Absolutely iconic. The moment that guitar hits, the arena erupts. But once again, it’s a stock library track, not a custom WWE composition.

The Main Event: Top 10 Wrestling Theme Songs of All Time

10. Shinsuke Nakamura – “The Rising Sun”

Violin. Swagger. Crowd sing-along. Shinsuke’s entrance, especially when joined by Lee England Jr. live on violin, is a masterclass in presentation. A perfect fusion of music and mystique. Love violin-driven performances? Don’t miss our interview with Lindsey Sterling.

9. Sasha Banks – “Sky’s the Limit”

From NXT, WWE’s developmental Brand, to WrestleMania, this theme captured Sasha’s rise from underdog to icon. The production, the hook, and the “Boss Time” energy? Legendary. Now known as Mercedes Moné, her legacy started with this track. Listen on YouTube

8. Bayley – “Turn It Up”

Cue the inflatable tube men! Bayley’s original theme was pure joy, perfectly matched to her “hugger” gimmick. It became the soundtrack to one of the most beloved women’s rivalries ever, especially her feud with Sasha Banks.

7. Mercedes Moné – “CEO”

Sasha 2.0. After leaving WWE, Mercedes redefined herself with this confident, trap-infused banger—rapped by herself. CEO-level entrance, CEO-level bars.

6. Roman Reigns – “Head of the Table”

Roman’s theme is cinematic, tribal, and imposing. Dig deeper and you’ll hear echoes of The Shield’s theme—an intentional nod to his origins. It’s everything a main-event theme should be: ominous, dominant, unforgettable.

5. The Rock – “Know Your Role”

“If ya smell…” Need we say more? The Rock’s multiple themes built off this one, but “Know Your Role” was the one that truly captured his peak era. Whether he’s the Final Boss or People’s Champ—it starts here.

4. “Real American” – Hulk Hogan

Yes, it’s over-the-top. Yes, Hogan is polarizing. But that riff defined an era. It still brings the house down, brother. Whether you’re drinking his beer or rolling your eyes, the song is iconic.

3. “Glass Shatters” – Stone Cold Steve Austin

The second that glass breaks, it’s chaos. It’s not just a theme, it’s an adrenaline spike. From bar brawls to beer baths, Stone Cold’s theme was the Attitude Era.

2. Cody Rhodes – “Kingdom”

What do you do when you leave the company that made you, with a chip on your shoulder and something to prove? You commission the band Downstait to craft a battle anthem, then bet on yourself, and win. “Kingdom” became Cody Rhodes’ soundtrack to reinvention, from the indies to AEW and back to WWE, where he’s now one of its biggest stars.

1. The Undertaker – “Rest In Peace

No theme captured atmosphere like this one. Jim Johnston’s haunting funeral march is still the gold standard for entrance music. Whether in smoke-filled arenas or WrestleMania domes, that gong still sends chills.  There’s even a fantastic mini-doc featuring a piano rendition of the theme—dare I say, it might be even better than the one we all know!

Honorable Mentions

Ruby Soho – “Ruby Soho” by Rancid

Rancid didn’t just lend Ruby Soho a song—they wrote it for her. The legendary punk band are longtime wrestling fans and crafted this anthem as a perfect fit for her rebellious spirit. They even performed it live on AEW TV. Ruby recently welcomed a baby with fellow wrestler Angelo Parker, congrats to the new parents!

Indi Hartwell – “Hart Won’t Quit”

After her WWE departure, Indi Hartwell linked up with Downstait, the same band behind Cody Rhodes’ “Kingdom”, to create a theme that channels the raw, nu-metal energy of the early 2000s. She wanted something that captured the spirit of the Limp Bizkit era she grew up on, and Downstait delivered with a track that’s as aggressive as it is personal.

Wrestling themes are more than music, they’re identity. These tracks turn entrances into moments and superstars into legends. Whether you’re Team Cena or Tribal Chief, we all remember the first time a theme hit and made us jump off the couch.
