Linkin Park Lost

Linkin Park fans, the time has finally arrived! After years without the iconic voice of the late Chester Bennington, Linkin Park has just released “Lost,” a never-before-heard track from their 2003 Meteora sessions. Fans can now immerse themselves in this fresh piece of music, recorded during the making of their iconic second albumโ€”with a newly mixed and mastered sound for today’s modern audiences.

Regarding the release of “Lost” Mike Shinoda said the following:

โ€œFinding this track was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten youโ€™d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chesterโ€™s voice, and Iโ€™m thrilled weโ€™ve been able to make that happen in such a special way. I think theyโ€™re going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in METEORA|20.”

In stark contrast to the nu-metal sounds of Meteora, “Lost” showcases Linkin Park’s future pop potential even back during their early hard rock years. The ballad’s second verse features a distinct pop influence, with Bennington crooning in an almost Backstreet Boys-like harmony as he sings about his fears and how easily he trusted broken promises. Fourteen years later, these pop influences would help inform what eventually became One More Light–proof that Linkin Park was already dipping their toes into pop long before they were truly set free to explore that genre in 2017.

Both old and newer fans will be moved by Chester Bennington’s passionate vocals, Mike Shinoda’s clever modern production, and the relatable lyrics that helped make Linkin Park a rock powerhouse in the early 2000s. The song serves as a time capsule, presenting an opportunity to remember Benningtonโ€™s legacy and cherish the talented work that Linkin Park produced during their admirable run with Chester Bennington.

Chester Bennington will always inspire many, and today’s release of the unreleased track “Lost” is only the beginning. In a few months, Linkin Park will also drop their highly anticipated Meteora|20 boxset featuring even more never-before-heard demos/b-sides that will surely delight their followers. This exceptional offering from Linkin Park celebrates Chester’s undying legacy that has touched so many lives over the years. Be sure to get your copy when it drops! “Lost” is now available on all music streaming services. Follow Linkin Park’s social media pages for updates.
