If you’ve been following AltWire since it’s inception back in 2013, you’ll know that there’s no secret how much some of us love the band Linkin Park. Through their game changing debut record Hybrid Theory in 2000, and up to their balls to the wall 2014 release The Hunting Party, the band’s career has taken many twists and turns. You’d think that a band around this long wouldn’t have any more surprises up their sleeves, but the lead single ‘Heavy’ off of 2017’s One More Light seems geared up to take the band through one of their most polarizing turns yet.
Leaning towards a more polished, poppier sound (in stark contrast to The Hunting Party’s raw production and hard rock influences), the R&B and trap influenced ‘Heavy’ features one of 2016’s biggest breakout artist’s Kiiara on guest vocals, who skyrocketed to fame with her infectious hit single ‘Gold’ which we previously featured here.
The band teased the album title over the last two weeks through a series of teaser videos for ‘Heavy’, marked by unique URLs posted to their official website (8 in total), spelling out ‘One More Light‘, which today was revealed as the name of the band’s upcoming 7th album.
With a May 19th release date, Linkin Park fans can look forward to picking up One More Light which features the following tracklist:
Nobody Can Save Me
Good Goodbye
Talking To Myself
Battle Symphony
Invisible
Heavy (Feat. Kiiara)
Sorry For Now
Halfway Right
One More Light
Sharp Edges
