Formed in late 2014, launching their debut album, “Island Thinkin'” smoothly combines pop, reggae, and rock to create a style that they like to call, “Tropical-Rock”. They’re currently at the studio finishing up their new album which will be released in the late summer of 2017.
Back in April, I had the pleasure of seeing Seranation perform when they opened for California-based pop-reggae band El atraco at West End Trading Co. in Sanford, Fla. The up-and-coming reggae group truly brought their tropical-rock vibe to this little town with songs about the ocean, sand and sun. In addition to writing their own songs, Seranation also performed covers from popular rock and reggae groups such as Shaggy, The Dirty Heads and Sublime.
Every one of the members has put their heart and soul into their music. Their hit, “What Up,” describes their journey.
To know Seranation is to love them. No matter the season, when they go onstage, it’s always summer. Their humbleness when connecting with their fans makes me feel honored to be a part of their growing family of friends and supporters. The highlight of the night, however, was the privilege to meet them and hang out after the show.
Seranation is a very tight-knit group with fans of all ages, including my two young boys who always ask me to play their CD in the car when we’re out and about.
Seranation is J. Carter (lead vocals), Adam Hocker (guitar, backup vocals), Bianca Schlosser (bass, backup vocals), Beard Bruce (keyboard, sax) and Josh Baron (drums). Their next album will be released later this summer.
