Female punk supergroup The Coolies – comprised of the late Kim Shattuck, Melanie Vammen et Palmyra Delran – have announced a third pressing of their debut benefit EP Uh Oh Itโsโฆ The Coolies! following the passing of bandmate, Kim Shattuck.
Kim, known throughout the pop-punk community for her fierce creative spirit, passed away on October 2 due to complications from ALS without ever disclosing that she was battling the disease. The Coolies and their label Wicked Cool Records will continue to donate 100% of proceeds from the record sales to support research for The ALS Association Golden West Chapter. โWeโre incredibly touched and grateful to see all the beautiful memories, tributes, and photos of Kim that have been shared. Weโre also super proud of The Coolies project that the three of us worked on together, along with the Wicked Cool Records team,โ said bandmates Melanie et Palmyra.ย โWeโve received overwhelming requests for more copies of the vinyl EP that was released in July, which has sold out two pressings. Since then, 100% of the proceeds have been donated to The ALS Association Golden West Chapter, totaling close to $10,000. There will now be a third pressing on the way, and weโre looking forward to raising even more money for research for treatments and a cure for ALS. Thank you to all who donated.โ
