On this wonderful Friday, we’re excited to present you some fantastic new music by Nick Catoire.
“Shine,” Nick Catoire’s new hot single, premieres today. The song is a message to the world encouraging individuals to accept who they are, and it discusses Catoire’s experiences of being closeted.
“I remember being in the closet and having so much fear of losing relationships, my way of life and my support system if I came out,” Nick Catoire says of the song. “But when you keep yourself a secret, no one knows the real you. It can feel like the ones closest to you only love the person youโre pretending to be. Thereโs always fear that if you show them the truth, theyโll reject you and youโll lose everything.”
Nick Catoire was born and raised in a trailer in Louisiana, where he was surrounded by drug addiction and bigotry. His goal is to promote gay culture, share his own story, and encourage others to be true to themselves rather than living in fear of who they are. “SHINE” is a blend of soulful pop, folk pop, and top 40 singer/songwriter pop with a sound that incorporates elements of Sam Smith, Lewis Capaldi, and Adele. “SHINE” is also influenced by artists such as Ed Sheeran, Lauren Spencer Smith, and Shawn Mendes, according to Catoire.
“SHINE” is Nick Catoire’s message to listeners everywhere.
“SHINEโ is my message to you. Embracing who you are is challenging, but itโs worth it. Youโll find the people that love you for who you are, and theyโll help you love yourself.โ
Listen to “SHINE” below, and let us know what you think in the comments! We plan to hopefully have Nick on our podcast within the next few weeks, and can’t wait to learn more about his story and the experiences that led him to where he is today.
