Revocation have released the first single off their upcoming album Great Is Our Sin, “Communion” available for streaming by Metal Blade Records. The sixth studio album will follow up their 2014 release Deathless, Great Is Our Sin scheduled to drop July 22, 2016- being described as their ‘most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date.’
Frontman and founding member Dave Davidson is quoted to say in regards to “Communion” that, “[it] is the fastest song we’ve recorded to date and while it’s blistering in terms of speed there are also some proggy elements present to add contrast to the aggression.”
Revocation brought back producer Chris ‘Zeuss’ Harris (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) from album Deathless and EP Teratogenesis for the upcoming album, early reviews so far including comments claiming Great Is Our Sin packs a requisite punch while retaining an organic feel. Looking through comments and posts from fans on Revocation’s Facebook in reaction to “Communion,” it may very well do so.
“We can’t wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world,” Davidson has stated, “‘Great Is Our Sin’ is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date.”
Great Is Our Sin is scheduled for release a day before The Summer Slaughter Tour begins, Revocation touring in support of their new album; The Summer Slaughter Tour includes Cannibal Corpse, Nile, After The Burial, Suffocation, Carnifex, Krisiun, Slaughter To Prevail and Ingested alongside Revocation, kick off July 23rd and ending August 21st.
