IMMINENCE vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, guitarists Harald Barrett and Alex Arnoldsson, drummer Peter Hanstrรถm-Dahlqvist, are back with their fourth full-length album Heaven in Hiding, out November 26 via Arising Empire.
If you haven’t heard about these guys, then I’m going to have your head. Well, maybe not that drastic, but seriously, get a move on and listen to them immediately. I cannot sing their praises enough. A few weeks ago, Imminence’s “Ghost” became one of my favorite new songs of the past few years, as it has been on repeat constantly ever since. These guys are so much more than just the sum of their parts.
With each new release, they continue to outdo themselves with top-notch production values and strikingly cinematic music videos that have blown me away since I first was introduced to their music earlier this year. Now they are back with an exciting collection of 13 new songs titled Heaven In Hiding, and I can hardly wait to hear this record in its entirety.
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in Sweden by Henrik Udd, who has worked with emotionally gripping bands like Architects and Bring Me The Horizon, to name just two artists on his resume. If the first three singles “Ghost,” “Heaven In Hiding,” and “Temptation” have shown anything, these gentlemen have created something extraordinary here – a sentiment guitarist Harald Barrett seems to agree with:
“With each new album, we tore the last one down to the ground. We built an idea of who we are as a band, then challenged that idea through new creative curiosity and influences. What we’ve discovered with Heaven in Hiding’ has never felt more like home, and never better embodied what Imminence is and will always be,” says Barrett.
Ebbs and flows are the best way to describe the music released so far from Heaven In Hiding. All three songs are full of dynamic changes. Each piece is captivatingly different yet still maintains a cohesive soundscape that ties them together and leaves the listener wanting more. We plan to review this record in its entirety when it comes out in November, but for now, see what all the fuss is about with their first three singles off of Heaven In Hiding below.
