It’s been two years since we’ve last heard from U.K. rock outfit Veridian, but that all changes this week with the release of their brand new single “Shine.”
The track is the first new music the band has released since their sophomore album, NoVella, in January 2020, and it’s a relatively chill track, softer than some of the songs we’ve heard from them in the past, but fantastic nonetheless.
We first heard of Veridian’s incredible music in 2016 with their single “Running Away” and featured them on our website in 2019. We are super pumped to see how far the boys have come since then. We are digging this new direction and are excited for what is to come.
Veridian is a six-piece rock band from Reading, Berkshire, for those unfamiliar. The band was founded in 2016 and almost immediately generated excitement, getting features on BBC and Kerrang. The band has opened for such bands as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and has played shows with Arcane Roots, King Blues, toured alongside Evarose, Diamond Days, and Chasing Cadence.
When discussing releasing “Shine,” vocalist Simon Jackman stated, “It gives us a sense of relief to finally be able to unveil new music after what feels like such a long time. We found the motivation to decide the musical direction of this song and pluck it from a pile of unfinished tracks. This marks a change of tone for Veridian, touching on the changes we have all felt personally over the last two years.”
