\u0424\u0440\u043e\u043d\u0442\u043c\u0435\u043d \u0427\u0438\u043d\u043e \u041c\u043e\u0440\u0435\u043d\u043e<\/a> expects Deftones’ new album to drop later this year some time around ‘September or October,’ their first release since \u041a\u043e\u0438 \u041d\u043e \u0401\u043a\u0430\u043d <\/em>in 2012 and after\u00a0Moreno’s focus on his side projects Palms, Team Sleep and Crosses. He talked with \u0420\u043e\u043b\u043b\u0438\u043d\u0433 \u0421\u0442\u043e\u0443\u043d<\/a> on the new record-<\/p>\n

“I think it’s a little more of a heady record,” <\/em>said Moreno when comparing the upcoming\u00a0album to their last; “I feel like we’ve gone into the songs and really dissected them. If something sounded a little straight, we took a left turn and made things a little screwy. We just tried something completely opposite, not to sabotage it, but to challenge ourselves and try new things that we haven’t done in the past.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The new album has already produced\u00a0sixteen songs, with Moreno not seeing\u00a0any of them\u00a0as a follow-up to \u041a\u043e\u0438 \u041d\u043e \u0401\u043a\u0430\u043d <\/em>but as a departure, the upcoming album remaining a definite ‘Deftones record.’<\/p>\n

“The songs are amazing and we wrote them in a really cool way. <\/em><\/p>\n

“We had all of us in a room together with one person expressing an idea and another person jumping on it. The songs are really built as a collective,” <\/em>Moreno talks of the new songs, “we have five guys who have almost completely different takes on music, so when it works- it works great.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Until these songs are revealed later this year, Crosses\u00a0are on hiatus and Team Sleep are holding a new album until the time is right to release it. For right now Moreno’s focus is entirely on Deftones for the time being.
