Ex-Pink Floyd member, Roger Waters, was not shy about voicing his annoyance via a Facebook post concerning his non-existent\u00a0involvement in\u00a0the band’s\u00a0new album, ‘Endless River’.\u00a0 Waters was a founding member of Pink Floyd, but parted ways with the band in 1985. Although, he has since performed with the band a few times and\u00a0has played\u00a0full Pink Floyd albums during his solo tours, he would like everyone to know that he has never officially rejoined the band.<\/p>\n

Waters’ Facebook<\/a> post stated, “Some people have been asking Laurie, my wife, about a new album I have coming out in November. Errhh? I don\u2019t have an album coming out, they are probably confused. David Gilmour and Nick Mason have an album coming out. It\u2019s called ‘Endless River’. David and Nick constitute the group Pink Floyd. I on the other hand, am not part of Pink Floyd. I left Pink Floyd in 1985, that\u2019s 29 years ago. I had nothing to do with either of the Pink Floyd studio albums, ‘Momentary Lapse Of Reason’ and ‘The Division Bell’, nor the Pink Floyd tours of 1987 and 1994, and I have nothing to do with Endless River. Phew! This is not rocket science people, get a grip.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Certainly if Waters left the band in 1985, it should be common knowledge that he wouldn’t be involved in later releases and tours following his departure, but sometimes people just need to hear it come from the horse’s mouth. Furthermore, the statement that ‘David and Nick constitute the group Pink Floyd’, unfortunately seems to cast doubt on any possibility of Roger Waters rejoining Pink Floyd for a reunion in the future. While it would be great to see the most of the original lineup (including Waters) someday make another record together, let’s hope Roger’s statement puts the confusion to rest for the time being.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
