It looks like Opeth\u2019s highly anticipated eleventh studio album \u201cPALE COMMUNION\u201d is just a little TOO pale for the band\u2019s liking.<\/p>\n
Officially reslated for release on August 26th<\/sup>, this pushes \u201cPALE COMMUNION\u201d back a full two months from its original goal of a June drop.<\/p>\n Band frontrunner Mikael \u00c5kerfeldt stated that the album just wouldn\u2019t have made the grade in time for a June release.\u00a0 \u00c5kerfeldt commented: \u201cMany of you have heard the rumours already and we can now confirm that the release of \u2018Pale Communion\u2019 has indeed been pushed back to late August [\u2026] Several circumstances prevented the band from delivering essential tools to Roadrunner in time which are needed to set up the album release properly and release schedule conflicts made us mutually decide on August instead of June.\u201d<\/p>\n We can only imagine \u00c5kerfeldt would want everything to be perfect in time for the release as this is not only a musical brainchild but also his own production.\u00a0 Yes indeed, \u201cPALE COMMUNION\u201d can not only boast the fact that it has been mixed by Steven Wilson (frontman and guitarist of Porcupine Tree) but also under its belt of credentials is that it was produced by the band\u2019s very own \u00c5kerfeldt.<\/p>\n Although all of our hearts break when an album gets pushed back I think everyone can agree that two months of additional wait time is definitely better than a hastily rushed release of a premature album. (I certainly know just seeing the words \u201chastily rushed\u201d and \u201cpremature\u201d together in a sentence is disappointing enough on its own.\u00a0 Am I right, ladies?)<\/p>\n \u201cPALE COMMUNION\u201d will be heralded by the lead single, \u201cCusp of Eternity\u201d and will become available for pre-order starting Tuesday, June 3RD.
