Flying Nun\/Captured Tracks have announced several key reissues from the New Zealand based indie-pop pioneers The Bats. Due for release on May 27th, the compilation titled Completely Bats<\/em> will feature a collection of early\u00a0EP’s\/singles [2xLP] (1982-90), and their first two full lengths\u00a0Daddy’s\u00a0Highway\u00a0<\/em>[1xLP] (1987) and\u00a0The Law Of Things<\/em>\u00a0[2xLP] (1990). In addition to the vinyl release, the tracks will also be released via a 3-CD set titled The Bats: Volume 1<\/em> (which will mark the first time these tracks have ever appeared on CD format).<\/p>\n

Formed in 1982 in New Zealand by Bob Scott, Paul Keane, Kaye Woodward and Malcolm Grant, The Bats have released eight albums during their career and have toured the United States and Europe sharing the stage with the likes of Radiohead, The Buzzcocks and Yo La Tengo among many others. The compilation, curated by the band members themselves will feature never before heard outtakes, in addition to extensive liner notes and ephemera from the band for the enjoyment of their devoted fans.<\/p>\n
