Following the launch of the blistering track\u00a0\u201cMOOT\u201d (<\/strong>featuring\u00a0Kittie\u2019s Morgan Lander)\u00a0<\/strong>that premiered via\u00a0Revolver<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in April,\u00a0We Are PIGS<\/strong>\u00a0today unleashes her latest creation \u2014 the gripping and brutally honest single\u00a0\u201cBlood Diamond,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0accompanied by a visually alarming new video.<\/p>\n

We Are PIGS<\/strong>\u00a0is the brainchild of accomplished South African-born producer \/ songwriter \/ artist\u00a0Esjay Jones<\/strong>\u00a0who has worked behind the scenes with\u00a0Krewella, Gris \u00e9tourdissement<\/a>, Billy Corgan\u00a0<\/strong>et\u00a0Brian \u201cHead\u201d Welch.\u00a0<\/strong>Pour\u00a0\u201cBlood Diamond,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Jones collaborated with eclectic producer and musician\u00a0M.O.B.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 after sending her the beat, Jones wrote and sang to it for the heart-thumping final result. Standing for\u00a0Music Over Business, M.O.B.<\/strong>\u00a0is a music collective that mixes top-tier artists like\u00a0Fever 333<\/a>, DJ Lethal\u00a0<\/strong>et\u00a0311\u2019s P-Nut,\u00a0<\/strong>with new and upcoming talents.<\/p>\n

The song, which\u00a0Jones<\/strong>\u00a0says ultimately both petrifies and awe-inspires her, is about the destruction waged by past trauma at the hands of family \u2014 and Jones hopes to use the song as a mechanism to reach out to others going through the same healing process and letting them know they are not alone.<\/p>\n

She says, \u201c\u2019Blood Diamond’<\/strong>\u00a0is a song for\u00a0all those healing and evolving in their lives, as I myself am still doing. In many ways I think the track was subconsciously written by a little girl that is still yearning for acceptance and learning what love really is while overcoming trauma. The pain of dealing with a dysfunctional parental relationship has really made for great art over the years but has also led to my own struggles with eating disorders, sexuality, self-love, and anger issues, and I just want people who are going through the same to know they are not alone.\u00a0‘Blood Diamond’<\/strong>\u00a0is my way of burying this burden and hopefully helping others navigate these stormy waters.”<\/p>\n

In the video,\u00a0Jones<\/strong>\u00a0wears a T-shirt from\u00a0Dave Navarro\u00a0<\/strong>et\u00a0PADHiA\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>art collective\u00a0Duel Diagnosis<\/strong><\/a>, aligning with the organization\u2019s mission to encourage people not to be shamed by struggle, but to celebrate coming out on the other side of it. Proceeds of sales from their line of prints and wearable art benefits organizations such as\u00a0Safe Horizon, Musicares\u00a0<\/strong>et\u00a0Serenity Trauma Healing Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Comme\u00a0Jones\u00a0<\/strong>says of the group, “They sum it up perfectly:\u00a0We all have our struggles, disorders, traumas, misadventures, flaws and defects. We are not set in concrete summarized by some shitty one-dimensional label. We are human, fallible, covered with bruises, affected … we are also healing, evolving and each uniquely beautiful.”<\/p>\n

Jones<\/strong>\u00a0met\u00a0Navarro\u00a0<\/strong>while producing the upcoming\u00a0Gris \u00e9tourdissement<\/strong>\u00a0album, which is one of the great hallmarks of Jones\u2019 sought-after production work. With the\u00a0We Are PIGS<\/strong>\u00a0project, characterized with a pig-masked frontwoman, Jones further steps into her own spotlight with a hybrid nu-metal\/trap style that combines brutal riffs, brazen screams and ethereal melodies.<\/p>\n

About We Are PIGS\/Esjay Jones<\/strong><\/p>\n

We Are PIGS\u00a0is the nu-metal hybrid with brutal riffs, brazen screams and ethereal melodies created by South African born producer \/ songwriter \/ artist Esjay Jones. In the summer of 2020, We Are PIGS made its debut with a cover of Slipknot\u2019s \u201cDuality\u201d and the first original single \u201cPulse Queen\u201d followed at the tail end of the year that has boasted 15 additions to editorial playlists between Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music.\u00a0Esjay Jones has been highlighted recently by the Recording Academy as well as recognized for solely producing the much-anticipated second LP for Grey Daze (Chester Bennington\u2019s first band), matching his vocals with collaborations from Dave Navarro, Richard-Patrick<\/a> (Filter) and Bennington\u2019s 9-year-old twin daughters, Lila and Lilly.
