To launch the single, the band activated\u00a0Project Dreamland<\/a>, which disseminated cassette players, tapes and evidence files to a number of fans, enabling them to unlock the countdown to\u00a0today\u2019s release of \u201cEuphoria\u201d via Rise Records\/BMG.<\/p>\n

The provocative official video for \u201cEuphoria\u201d was unveiled\u00a0today\u00a0in a YouTube Premiere. Angels & Airwaves\u2019 Tom DeLonge directed, weaving a tale of intrigue complete with a femme fatale, her lover, a mysterious motorcyclist, Area 51 intelligence and a tour de force performance by the band.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a music world that seems to be absent guitars, angst, and emotional authenticity, I felt it was important to lead with a song that mirrors the post-hardcore days of my youth, where the power of the music creates that feeling we once had as teenagers, where we wanted to break something and change the poisonous environment within our broken homes,<\/em>\u201d explains Tom DeLonge. \u201cThese emotions create us. This song shows the seductive nature of an intense love built with that baggage from our youth, from being born into an imperfect household.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

As announced earlier\u00a0today,\u00a0<\/strong>Angels & Airwaves will perform at Lollapalooza 2021, which will take place in Chicago\u00a0July 29\u00a0to\u00a0August 1.\u00a0The band will also play a pair of headline shows this fall \u2013\u00a0October 23\u00a0at New York City\u2019s Hammerstein Ballroom and\u00a0November 5\u00a0at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The fan club ticket presale is underway now at\u00a0https:\/\/www.avaempireclub.com\/<\/a>. Tickets will go on sale to the public this Friday, May 21, at 12:00 PM local time.<\/p>\n

Angels & Airwaves (AVA) \u2013 comprising Tom DeLonge (lead vocals, guitar\/synths), Ilan Rubin (drums\/guitar\/backing vocals\/synths), David Kennedy (guitar) and Matt Rubano (bass) \u2013 wrote and produced \u201cEuphoria\u201d with Aaron Rubin. Rich Costey (Les Foo Fighters<\/a>, Weezer<\/strong>) mixed the track, which marks the first new music from the band since \u201cAll That\u2019s Left Is Love,\u201d which was released in April 2020. Hailed as an \u201cempowering anthem\u201d by\u00a0SPIN<\/em>, the song conveyed a message of hope amid the pandemic. Continuing the band\u2019s longstanding relationship with Feeding America, proceeds from \u201cAll That\u2019s Left Is Love\u201d were donated to the non-profit\u2019s COVID-19 relief fund.<\/p>\n

DeLonge, a founding member of Blink-182<\/strong>, formed Angels & Airwaves in 2005.
