Continuing a winning streak of 70s-tipped wonders that have included the\u00a0BBC 6 Music<\/strong>\u00a0championed \u201cPloy\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and the sparkling recent single \u201cYou Only<\/strong>\u201d, the London quintet return with a miraculous follow-up track: \u201cSaviour<\/strong>".<\/p>\n

Matching the glam-rock pomp of early\u00a0Elton John<\/em>\u00a0with the technicolour stomp of\u00a0Supertramp<\/em>, \u201cSaviour<\/strong>\u201d is a time-warped whirlwind of fuzzy guitars, buoyant retrofied rhythms and rousing piano melodies.<\/p>\n

Sporting licks that Lindsey Buckingham or Roy Wood would once have been proud to call their own, \u201cSaviour\u201d was penned by Silvertwin main-man Isaac Shalam and stands as the first he had ever written strictly on a guitar. Its notably radiant harmonies were later overdubbed by Shalam with Silvertwin\u2019s Dan Edery, who amplified its inception-like layerings.<\/p>\n

Speaking about writing the track, Isaac says:<\/p>\n

\u201c(Saviour) is heavy and energetic and takes inspiration from the more rocky ELO and Wings songs. The heavy lead and disco rhythm parts are intended to complement each other in the verse. The guitar solo was going through a unique 1950s tube console, which was not intended for guitars but gave it a distinctive sound which we loved<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSaviour\u201d is just one of many delights soon-to-be-heard on\u00a0Silvertwin\u2019s self-titled debut album<\/strong>, which arrives on\u00a016th July 2021<\/span><\/strong>. Already shaping up to be one of 2021\u2019s most essential debuts, \u2018Silvertwin\u2019, will be like opening a time-capsule of 70s hits you never knew existed. An intoxicating rush of retro-pop nuance and artful nostalgia, think Paul McCartney produced by ELO and you\u2019re part-way there.<\/p>\n

With a sound as familiar as your childhood soundtrack, the record is notably blessed with the touching turn of phrase and swooning couplets of frontman Isaac Shalam<\/strong>. Setting-out to create \u201can album of timeless songwriting\u201d, Shalam explores themes of \u201cyoung love and the wide spectrum of emotions that come with it\u201d written with heartfelt honesty and endearingly relatable experiences. Recorded to tape rather than digitally, most parts were recorded by Shalam with some overdubs by the rest of the band and session musicians to enhance its warmly authentic baroque-pop feel. The result is indeed a record of timeless feel; lost out-of-time and estranged from its seventies acolytes, yet sounding fresher than ever in the mixed-up here and now of 2021. Yearning to be heard by the ears of all generations, it will appeal to fans of like minded retro-revisionists like\u00a0The Lemon Twigs or Whitney<\/em>, as well as fans of the myriad quintessential acts who have inspired it, from\u00a0Billy Joel to The Beatles<\/em>,\u00a0Supertramp to Gilbert O\u2019Sullivan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The record is masterfully produced by\u00a0Foxygen\u2019s Jonathan Rado\u00a0<\/strong>(The Flaming Lips \/ The Killers \/ Father John Misty<\/em>) who has mentored and supported the band from their very earliest days. Providing the record with the classic finish it richly deserves, \u2018Silvertwin\u2019 was mastered by\u00a0Frank Arkwright\u00a0<\/strong>\u00e0\u00a0Abbey Road Studios<\/strong>\u00a0and mixed by the legendary\u00a0Cenzo Townshend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Masterminded by Isaac Shalam, Silvertwin<\/strong> are the new band your life is sorely missing. Raised on a diet of seminal cuts from the 60s, 70s and 80s consumed via the family car stereo, from early-on in high school Shalam felt a yearning to recreate the sounds he had grown up with all his life. Looking for a vehicle to bring his self-penned songs to life, Shalam formed Silvertwin while at college in London; a quintet of like-minded souls including Alicia Barisani, Dan Edery, Lauric Mackintosh and Antonio Naccache.<\/p>\n

Quickly impressing audiences and industry alike, the Silvertwin name soon caught the ear of Foxygen\u2019s Jonathan Rado who invited the band to develop their studio sound with him at LA\u2019s prestigious Electro Vox studios. Spending the last year readying a clutch of songs for wider release, recent single \u201cPloy\u201d was the first of those sessions to materialise, swiftly followed by leading album track \u201cYou Only\u201d and recent addition \u201cSavour\u201d.<\/p>\n

Playing their first official shows in 2020, the band drew a sold-out capacity crowd to a two night residency at London\u2019s Pin-Ups venue by word-of-mouth sensation.<\/p>\n

Looking forward to returning to the live stage for the first time since, Silvertwin are will play\u00a04x socially distanced shows\u00a0<\/strong>over two nights at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney on\u00a019th May<\/span>\u00a0et\u00a016th June<\/span>\u00a0respectively. Selling like hot cakes, all four shows are now\u00a0sold out<\/strong>. However, to mark the release of their debut album Silvertwin are pleased to announce an\u00a0album launch show<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Sebright Arms, London\u00a0<\/strong>– the night before their record hits the shelves.
