After a lengthy silence, Los Angeles alternative metal\/hard rock outfit Cicatrices en Broadway<\/a><\/strong> (founded by System of a Down<\/strong> member Daron Malakian<\/strong>) have announced their first new material in a decade.<\/p>\n

Following the 2008 debut, Cicatrices en Broadway<\/em>, the band\u2019s scheduled 2012-2013 sophomore album suddenly failed to materialize, with the band entering a six-year period of almost complete silence, and official social media outlets listing all of the project\u2019s dedicated members (aside from Malakiano <\/strong>himself) having departed or absent from the band. Following the apparent abandonment of the project, Malakiano<\/strong> embarked on further live performances with System of a Down<\/strong>, alongside performing with Los Angeles group Millenials <\/strong>and appearing on Parque Linkin<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s sixth studio effort, La partida de caza<\/a><\/em> (on the track \u2018Rebellion\u2019).<\/p>\n

Now, a decade since the release of their debut studio album, the band (re-branded as Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway<\/strong>) have finally broken their silence, with Daron Malakian<\/strong> announcing via social media a brand new Cicatrices en Broadway <\/strong>single due to be released on April 23tercer<\/sup>, as well as their long awaited sophomore effort due at a later unconfirmed date.<\/p>\n
