AltWire Songs of the Week 3\/6\/16<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

1.Finish Line – Daye Jack<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Daye Jack returns with his fourth single since releasing his fantastic 2015 debut <\/span>Soul Glitch<\/span><\/a>. Finish Line has strong funk influences, and it\u2019s a good upbeat song to listen to and relax. This single could mean that more music is on the way, as when Jack released his first single after Soul Glitch, Piggybank, he released 2 other songs within a month. I\u2019ll be eagerly awaiting his sophomore album. <\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Dapper – Domo Genesis<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Former <\/span>Odd Future<\/span><\/a> rapper Domo Genesis announced that he is releasing his first studio album titled \u00a0<\/span>Genesis<\/span><\/a> on March 25th. Along with the announcement came a soulful new single titled Dapper. The song is different from anything Domo has ever released, and it seems like Domo is finally ready to start distancing himself from Odd Future.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Bubbling – Michael Christmas<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Christmas released <\/span>two new songs<\/span><\/a> this week. Bubbling features a jazz influenced beat produced by <\/span>Swelly<\/span><\/a>. Christmas raps about his struggles with women, and his life on this track. Video Games is the opposite of Bubbling. It is a very aggressive track with heavy trap influences. <\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Brooklyn\u2019s Own – Joey Bada$$<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Amidst all of the <\/span>L Street<\/span><\/a> drama, Joey Bada$$ released a tribute to Biggie Smalls this week called \u201cBrooklyn\u2019s Own\u201d. Though Joey doesn\u2019t go out of his way to diss L Street he does make reference to him when he says \u201cI don\u2019t see no threats\u201d. I really enjoyed this track, and it was probably my favorite of the week, anything produced by <\/span>Statik Selektah<\/span><\/a> turns out pretty good. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Out Late – Lil Yachty<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Out of nowhere Lil Yachty released his first full length project \u201cLil Boat\u201d this week. You can read my review of it <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>. Out Late was one of the best songs off of the mixtape, with fantastic production from Earl and Bangs, and a pretty catchy hook the song should get some more love. <\/span><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Antidote – Travis Scott (Deebs Remix)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Always have to give love to my fellow producers. This week Canadian producer Deebs dropped a remix of Travis Scott\u2019s <\/span>hit song Antidote<\/span><\/a>. Deebs totally changed up the song, turning it from a banger to a soft hearted rap song. <\/span><\/p>\n

7.\u00a0Acid Residue – Chester Watson<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Chester Watson released 3 new songs this week, <\/span>for his birthday month<\/span><\/a>. This song is the slowest of all of his releases, and features very abstract lyrics over a slow and <\/span>scary <\/span><\/i>beat. The track is easily Watson\u2019s best release of the week, and I would assume that most of the songs he released this week are leftovers from <\/span>Past Cloaks<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n
