Shinedown’s first new album since Amaryllis <\/em>in 2012 has been given a\u00a0hopeful release date of late July to early August by front-man Brent Smith, who has also teased the possibility of a new single by April. Smith held a Q&A session yesterday on the band’s Twitter account, confirming they are four weeks into recording, with the first day of the newest sessions being the most memorable for Smith when asked in regards to the making of ‘Shinedown5.’<\/em><\/p>\n

Smith seems to be standing strong behind the upcoming album, stating that his all time favorite songs are“being recorded right now” <\/em>and describing it as a “devastating album. Beautifully brutal,” <\/em>with ‘survival’ being his only answer for the album’s inspiration. When asked for song titles and the album cover, Smith revealed none- “Not yet. In due time….”<\/em><\/p>\n

A 2015 tour was confirmed several times in his replies, and two shows are already\u00a0listed on their website: Moondance Jam in Minnesota July 18th\u00a0and Jackson County Fairgrounds in Michigan\u00a0August 9th. More dates are expected to be revealed soon HIER<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smith also answered a few questions about their film project, announced earlier\u00a0this month to tell the story of Shinedown’s history.<\/p>\n

“It’s a little bit of a difficult thing to describe because it’s such a unique concept the way that we’re shooting it and the way that we’re putting together the life of the band over the past fifteen years,” <\/em>Smith had explained to Schw\u00e4tzer<\/a>. When asked yesterday during the Q&A by a fan for anything more about the film, Smith simply answered that “it’s very real.”<\/em> Unlike their fifth album, the film has no release date, as Glanz<\/a> are “filming everyday until it’s finished.”<\/em><\/p>\n
