Pet Symmetry BIG pedal

Reverb has announced the release of a limited-run effects pedal created by rock band Pet Symmetry and boutique builder Damnation Audio. Designed for bass guitar, the BIG pedal combines fuzz and clean boost functionality and will be available exclusively through Reverb beginning July 8.

Only 100 units will be produced. The launch coincides with Pet Symmetry’s new album BIG Symmetry, and marks the band’s first hardware collaboration. The pedal is part of Reverb’s Artist Shops program, which has previously featured gear developed in partnership with musicians and boutique builders.

“BIG is the magic elixir to obtaining a bass tone I have been working on for years. Between my bands Pet Symmetry, Their / They’re / There and Into It. Over It. we had been using a combination of coveted and hard to find effects for years. Now we have one box that can do it all and provides way more tonal options on the stage and in the studio. Damnation Audio helped us bring this to life and now we want to share it with as many people as possible.”

Built for Bass

Pet Symmetry bassist Evan Weiss partnered with Damnation Audio to recreate a fuzz tone he’s used for years. According to Weiss, the original unit was difficult to find and uniquely suited for low-end saturation without losing clarity. The resulting pedal was built to deliver a similar voicing, with added features to increase control and flexibility.

The BIG pedal includes two circuits: a bass-voiced fuzz and a clean boost. Each can be engaged independently or used together. The pedal supports 9V and 18V operation, with higher voltage providing more headroom and punch. All circuits and enclosures were produced in collaboration with Damnation Audio, based in Baltimore.

Design and Features

The pedal features simple controls for fuzz, EQ, and boost level, and is housed in a compact enclosure with bold BIG branding. The layout is designed for live use, with separate footswitches for fuzz and boost. Both functions were voiced specifically for bass guitar, with a focus on maintaining low-end clarity during high-gain operation.

“Designed specifically for bassists who want weight and clarity at the same time,” reads the official Reverb listing. “This thing hits hard without getting lost in the mix.”

Limited Quantities

The BIG pedal is capped at 100 units and is available only through Reverb. No additional production runs have been announced. Buyers can preview the pedal and hear a full demo on Reverb’s official product page.
