A lot of people are probably about to hate me for this but…I find Gaga’s new single, The Cure, to be very basic and cliché. That’s right, I said it – the song really isn’t anything special. If anything it sounded like a Little Mix song. I have no doubt that The Cure will be blasted on every radio station for months – it has perfect radio hit ingredients… the stereotypical lyrics about not giving up, EDM style build up and disappointing beat drop.
I know what you’re thinking… “dang this girl ain’t got no chill, she’s just slammin’ Gaga!”
Let me clarify, I am a long time fan of Lady Gaga! She is very easily one of the most unique, creative and out of the box mainstream artists out there – which is what makes me so disappointed in her and this new song. Gaga’s latest album, Joanne, was a masterpiece filled with raw emotion and each song had it’s own story. The album made me feel like I was connecting with the real Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (Gaga’s real name), instead of just listening to another basic popstar in a crazy wig. I felt like the Joanne album was just Gaga telling us about herself and about her story – very much unlike The Cure.
