London’s electro-rock group Modestep have announced the release of their anticipated second album London Road with Max Records/INgrooves, set for May 25th with pre-orders live on iTunes. Track listing and cover art have beenย premieredย with their lead single “Machines,” ย immediately available for download with all pre-orders.
Tastes of London Road’s tracks are featured in their short film for the upcoming album, the film produced by Modestep and Liam Underwood, also featuring London’s Flowdan on voiceover and Big Narstie as a cab driver. The short film was premiered on VEVO this week.
Vocalist and DJ Josh and Tony Friend call London Road a real representation of what the four-piece have become, a tribute to their city featuring its other artists such as Discards, Dialect and LayZ.
“We got into this music from going out to London clubs,” Josh explains, “we were lucky enough to have that access. Now this music has blown up all over the world but it came from here, the British created this vibe by drawing from parts of London that are so darkly atmospheric. We want to push that, to show those roots.”
Tony adds that the album has allowed them the opportunity to work with some of the best talent they’ve met, “and to push the boundaries of what they do, what Modestep do, and what we can do together.”
Modestep will be touring in the United Kingdom and hitting major festivals starting this spring, US dates soon to be announced. All dates and ticket sales can be found HERE.
